Dopo qualche giorno di ricerche in internet
(e una “soffiata” di un “Vecio” della “Cadore”)
ho trovato finalmente una notizia certa sul fregio per copricapo!
E’ di Feldjäger austriaco precedente la Prima Guerra Mondiale.
Headdress
The most common form of headdress as worn in service dress and in the field was the pike-grey kepi or Kappe. Usually fitted with a black leather peak and fastened at the front by two small buttons. On the centre front of the officers' cap was a bullion circular badge with the Emperor's cypher. Officers and senior aspirant officers (Fähnrich) of Jäger formations also wore additionally a small Jäger horn beneath the bullion badge with distinctions as shown in the following table. The Feldjäger battalions wore the battalion number within the horn. NCOs and private soldiers wore the circular badge in metal:

Copricapo
La forma più comune di copricapo come indossato in abito di servizio e nel campo è stato il kepi luccio-grigio o Kappe. Generalmente dotato di un picco pelle nera e fissato anteriormente da due piccoli pulsanti. Al centro anteriore del berretto degli ufficiali era un distintivo circolare con Cypher dell'Imperatore. Gli ufficiali e alti ufficiali aspiranti (Fähnrich) di formazioni Jäger indossavano anche in aggiunta un piccolo corno Jäger sotto il distintivo con distinzioni, come indicato nella seguente tabella. Il Feldjäger battaglione indossava il numero battaglione entro la cornetta. Sottufficiali e soldati privati portavano il distintivo circolare in metallo:
